Roadmap
Track the current SOIT platform direction and upcoming capability themes.
SOIT is an open-source governed agent runtime for teams that need self-hosted, model-neutral execution with observable and auditable agent behavior. It ships in focused iterations around governed runtime capabilities.
Current focus
- Stabilize the Community runtime main path: agent creation, versioning, publish, execute, stream, response, thread, task, run trace, and tool-call detail.
- Keep knowledge ingestion and retrieval reliable across upload, ingest, chunk, index, query, and citation flows.
- Connect Observe surfaces to real run, task, response, tool, cost, and approval data.
- Maintain documented quality gates for backend, frontend, release, and local deployment checks.
Next milestones
- Harden plugin and MCP execution with capability allowlists, audit records, approval policy hooks, and secret boundaries.
- Add evaluation and regression checks for agent, knowledge, and workflow behavior.
- Improve production deployment profiles, health checks, backup/restore guidance, and model provider diagnostics.
- Expand governance reports for workspace cost, privileged operations, external tool access, approval outcomes, and policy failures.
Completed foundations
- Outbox-based event-driven runtime.
- Capability registry with source-agnostic tool binding.
- Agent and workflow versioning with release management.
- Hexagonal kernel boundaries enforced by import linting.
- Spec-first contracts for major primitives.
- Plugin-first governance for tools, MCP servers, and skills.
- Anthropic Messages API on the gateway, for Claude Code and the Anthropic SDKs.
- Evaluation datasets with revisions, and knowledge bases synced from S3 buckets and websites.
- Agent specifications as YAML files, exported and imported.
- Cost reconciliation against provider bills, and document-level knowledge permissions.
- Approval assignment, deadlines, delegation, and server-side workflow resume.
